postheadericonCertificate of Achievement - Aeronautics & Aviation Technology

We realize that not everyone wants to go to traditional college for another 1 - 3 years after completing their helicopter flight training.  There are no general education courses associated with the certificate, students need only complete the helicopter flight training courses.
The Aeronautics and Aviation Technology Certificate of Achievement is designed to prepare students to become professional helicopter pilots upon completion. These courses taken together, will give students the necessary skill, experience and knowledge to legally, safely and efficiently pilot an aircraft for compensation or hire. All graduates of the program will meet all Federal Aviation Administration requirements to fly professionally and will achieve the following FAA certifications:

Private Pilot – Rotorcraft Helicopter (AERO 210)
Instrument Pilot – Rotorcraft Helicopter (AERO 212, 213)
Commercial Pilot – Rotorcraft Helicopter (AERO 211,212,214
Certified Flight Instructor – Rotorcraft Helicopter (AERO 215)
Instrument Flight Instructor – Rotorcraft Helicopter (AERO 215)

NOTE: Inexperienced graduates are not typically hired after completion of the program in most industry segments, except for the position of flight instructor. As such, this program qualifies candidates to immediately perform the duties of flight instructor –rotorcraft helicopter upon completion.

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, Occupational Outlook Handbook 2010 – 2011 Edition for Aircraft Pilots and Flight Engineers, “Because of the number of college-educated applicants continues to increase, many employers are making a college degree an educational requirement.” So, while the certificate program will fulfill the minimum F.A.A. training, students are strongly encouraged to pursue the associate degree to meet employer requirements.
