Thank you for contacting us regarding your interest in attending COS Aviation. Since you are not of US Citizenship, you will need to obtain an F-1 Student VISA to attend college or COS Aviation through the college. Visitor VISAs are no longer acceptable for college attendance. Students are eligible to take courses under the F-1 Training Visa which permits students to remain in the United States for the duration of their flight training. International students participating in the degree course are eligible for a US Visa for approximately 2 years.
The International Student website is located at
www.cos.edu for admissions to the College of the Sequias and will answer many questions you may have. Once you have been accepted to COS you may then attend flight training classes.
Please print, complete and mail the following forms to the college:
As an International Student you will be required to register for a minimum of 12 units for each Spring and each Fall semester which be completely covered only in your flight school training which is a 24 unit course. At this time the cost is $185 per unit per semester (plus $20 enrollment fee per unit). All fees are subject to change.
On the International Student website (See frame below) are various pages including SEVIS fees required, frequently asked questions, fees, etc. Please note a $100 processing fee payable to College of the Sequoias along with a picture of yourself must accompany your paperwork. If you attend COS, the $100 will be placed into your account. If you fail to complete the process, the $100 will not be returned.
After all admission requirements have been met and you have been accepted for admission to COS, an I-20 will be issued which you will take to the nearest US embassy or consulate to request an F-1 Student VISA.
Currently COS roster does not have COS Aviation as part of their schedule but will be starting very soon, as this is a new program for COS. Once you have applied to the COS, been accepted you then need to be cleared through the Transportation Safety Administration (TSA) which will be completed by the aviation department to begin flight training in the United States, so you will need to contact the school staff ASAP.
If you have any further questions please feel free to contact a flight training representative prior to beginning the enrollment process to assist you in the correct direction and who you will need to speak with at COS. You may also contact the COS Aviation staff directly through SKYPE if you have access at blueskyheli1.
We welcome students to participate in COS Aviation's flight trianing program!
